UNSPOKEN WORDS

About

Unspoken Words is a card game designed to encourage meaningful conversations within immigrant families to strengthen relationships. Founders Misha Lau and Rebecca Jiang developed this game because they felt that these vulnerable conversations regarding life experiences were not had with their own families growing up.

My primary task was to convey the six categories of Action, Childhood, Culture & Immigration, Identity, Reflection, and Relationship. I started with multiple sketches for each category, working with Misha and Rebecca to develop the tone of the game. We decided that the illustrations and color scheme would be light-hearted in appearance, but would be contrasted by challenging questions.
